There are a lot of factors to consider while buying a new racket so read this guide before you rush to buy a new one

Here’s the short version of my recommendation on best badminton racket

If you have a good technique in your swing and play both singles and doubles then hands down Astrox 88 D is the best buy (check it out on Amazon USA / Amazon India)

If you want a racket which is more user-friendly and suitable for both singles and doubles then Victor Brave Sword 12 is my best pick (check it out on Amazon USA / Amazon India)

But if you are dedicated to one event in badminton then these are the best racket

  • For Singles:- Duora Z strike for attacking player, it has a slightly smaller frame so only if you have proper technique go for this racket but the power you can generate from this racket is just amazing(check them on amazon USA / amazon India )
  • For Doubles:- Astrox 88 S for fast handling, it is 5 mm shorter than conventional racket which provides more fast swings especially on drives (check it on Amazon USA / Amazon India), Astrox 88 D provides power and fast drive at the same time so best for backcourt player in doubles (check it on Amazon USA / Amazon India)

Now let’s discuss these rackets one by one

Why Astrox 88D

It is an all-round racket and suitable both for singles and doubles but good only if you have proper technique

Let’s look at some specs

Shaft:- It has a stiff shaft so it is easier to control your shots as compared to the flexible shaft but you need a good technique to get the most out of this racket also it has one of the slimmest shaft Yonex has ever produced which means less air resistance during swings

Balance:- It is a head heavy racket but what I liked about it is that how fast it is at the same time meaning that you can also use this racket while playing doubles even after being a head heavy racket

Weight:- I tested both 3U(88 g) and 4U(84 g), and what I suggest is to go for 4U if you want easier racket handling and 3U if you want more power.

One more thing which makes it an all-round racket is that it has some weight on the bottom cap of the handle which means that when you are defending or playing drives it will not feel much head heavy

I don’t know it really weird how Yonex managed to make this racket head heavy and at the same time good for flat exchanges.

Frame:- It is an isometric shape racket which means large sweet spot but what makes it different from Astrox 88S is that it has more flex in the upper part of the frame transmitting maximum power to the shuttlecock

Why Victor Brave Sword 12

I choose this racket because of how beginner-friendly this is as compared to other rackets

This is arguably the most popular racket produced by victor which is mainly due to the top men’s doubles player who used it like Lee Yong Dae, yoo yong sung and many more

BS12 is an extremely good badminton racquet and I’m amazed how little I see this in clubs. This would be an ideal racquet for many players because it has so much to offer in all areas of the court.

It is also much cheaper in price as compared to other top tiers racket

Shaft :- It is a medium stiff shaft racket means that you will get the benefit of control and power at the same time

Frame:- It has a very aerodynamic frame and has less air resistance as compared to nanoray 900 which provide very fast swing especially when you are playing deception also the isometric shape provides a larger sweet spot

Balance:- It is an even balance so you won’t get much help from the weight of the head during the swing but it does provide more steep angles to you smash, also even balance racket are good for long practice or playing session as your arm will not get tired quickly

Why Duora Z Strike

The reason I would recommend this racket over duora 10 and astrox 99 is that the power is can generate while providing control is incredible

As I talked about it earlier that it is suitable for you if your swinging technique is clear because its shaft is not flexible so the power you power from this racket will depend on your technique

This racket uses duora technology which means that one side of the racket frame is faster and the other side is slower but when I played with my friend’s racket it doesn’t feel much of a difference

I would highly recommend this racket because of how perfect it is in every aspect, control, power, accuracy

  • Flex: Extra Stiff
  • Frame: H.M. Graphite/NANOMETRIC DR/Hyper-MG
  • Shaft: H.M. Graphite/NANOMETRIC/EX-HMG
  • Weight / Grip Size: 3U (Ave.88g) G4,5 2U (Ave.93g) G4,5
  • Stringing Advice: 3U 20-28lbs, 2U 21-29lbs

Why Astrox 88 S

Best racket available in the market when it comes to doubles play especially if you are a front court player

As I said earlier it is 5 mm short than a conventional racket so it provides extra speed and quick movement of the racket

If you are thinking how a short racket is faster then next time try to play by holding racket near the upper handle and after that, while holding from the lower side of handle you will notice a difference

Yonex introduced new technology in this racket by combining nanofibre with graphite to put it in laymen terms this racket provides power and control at the same time

We all know that flex shaft rackets are harder to control that is the reason why many club players go for voltric series but this technology will make you racket powerful and accurate at same time
